This year has been huge for us. As 2021 draws to a close and we take our own advices to reflect on all that we’ve experienced and learned, we want to share with you some of what we’ve accomplished. We’ve grown our team, expanded our mission, and achieved some big successes (for us and our clients!).
We started this year as a one-person show —with our talented and capable Founder and CEO, Sherry Robinson. At year’s end, we’re now a five-person team with a full range of service and business capabilities. With the addition of our carefully chosen new staff, we’re now better positioned to grow our services here in our home state of Georgia.
To our outstanding new staff, Shawn Punancy, Chief Operating Officer; Frank Flowers, Director of Business Development; David Andignac, Jr., Senior Manager for Business Development; and Jaime Davis, Business Management Associate: Welcome to the team!
As a consulting firm that partners closely with clients, gets in the trenches, and meets organizations exactly where they are, we’re tuned in and well-equipped to grow in ways that meet our customers’ needs. This year, we worked through some strategic planning of our own and developed a new mission that really focuses on our goals: to redefine risk management.
For our clients, this means expanded and streamlined service offerings that include cultural transformation, global intelligence, and operational resilience. We rebranded and redesigned our website to focus on the core elements of what we do so well.
Late this year we wrapped up our five-year engagement with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. Over the course of the contract, we designed and implemented their visitor and guest services staffing program and guided them through an unforeseen pandemic. It was a great success, and we’re so thankful for the lasting relationships we’ve built.
Expanding our team and honing our mission opened up opportunities to build out our network and continue growing our deep roots in the risk management community. This year, we partnered with Industrious to gain new office space at Ponce City Market. Engaging with other Atlanta-based small businesses has been inspiring.
We also attended several local conferences and got certified by the Department of Transportation as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) to better position our team to offer expert project management and strategic partnering services as Georgia builds new infrastructure.
At ACTN Strategies, 2021 was a busy year. And we used it wisely and well – to lay the groundwork for so much more in the coming year. 2022 is full of promise, and we’re excited to work with old and new clients to Rise to Every Occasion. Happy New Year, everyone!
