The phrase “when we get back to normal” has become the punctuation at the end of many sentences lately. It’s only natural to look back longingly at the time before a traumatic event, and COVID-19 is nothing if not traumatic.

However, the reality is, COVID-19 has changed our world for the foreseeable future; and that is not necessarily a bad thing. While we acknowledge change can be uncomfortable, we also recognize that change promotes growth. Throughout history, positive change has oftentimes sprouted up from the rubble of turbulent events.

The New Normal

While many businesses are beginning to open their doors again, it is only at 10 -25 percent capacity. Even with these restrictions in place, ensuring that staff and patrons are protected and in compliance with the latest information on safety can be a daunting task.

When restrictions on capacity are eventually lifted, businesses will not be able to just throw open their doors and go about business as usual. COVID-19 and the threat of other potential viruses will remain at the forefront of people’s minds. Organizations can take advantage of the limited capacity restrictions in place now by using this time to determine how best to optimize reopening their operations fully.
